APERTO 1: The Skeleton
of the Future
Designed in Collaboration with Pininfarina
With its bold, Pininfarina-led design, the APERTO 1 seamlessly blends past, present, and future. When briefing the world-renowned design house, BOVET owner Pascal Raffy requested Pininfarina’s designers to conceive a more versatile and modern interpretation of the age-old art of skeletonization, opening everything for all to see. He asked for simplicity, transparency and lightness to be expressed in a thoroughly contemporary aesthetic, emphasizing all-round usability, offering a high level of flexibility to the timepiece’s owner.
The result is an exciting, almost playfully modern timepiece which pays homage to the open-work watchmaking genre while transforming the visual appeal of a skeletonized timepiece into a more robust expression, perfectly adapted to our modern-day environment. Extremely light, thanks to its grade 5 titanium case and well-sized at 42mm, the Aperto 1 is supremely comfortable on the wrist.
Drawing inspiration from Pininfarina’s vast repertoire including sports cars, yachts, airplanes, architecture and furniture, the APERTO 1 exudes a perfect balance of elegance, savoir-faire and functionality, together with a spirited sporty character. With APERTO 1, time is revealed in its purest and most contemporary form yet.
Battista Tourbillon
Sapphire and Titanium
Designed in collaboration with Automobili Pininfarina, the Battista Tourbillon features a patented flying tourbillon movement with 10 days of power reverse in a revolutionary and complicated sandwich-style case with two box sapphire crystals on each side.
The Battista Tourbillon features exquisite detailing inspired by the design language and features of the hyper-GT itself. Every element of the timepiece’s design has been crafted to reflect Automobili Pininfarina’s PURA design philosophy, which uses elegant simplicity and lightness as its starting point.
Applying the design know-how and philosophy of Battista on such a small-scale object was an enormous challenge, though, requiring a completely different approach from both design teams, automotive and timepiece. Combining this different expertise from both sides, the timepiece incorporates fresh and groundbreaking ideas within a classically-oriented watchmaking structure coupled with extraordinary finishing.
The OttantaSei
The OttantaSei Tourbillon, designed in collaboration with Pininfarina, is proof of the two Houses’ alchemy, which allowed them to create and achieve the accuracy that characterizes this exceptional timepiece.
Mr. Pascal Raffy’s instructions during the development emphasized the word “light” in two senses referencing both luminosity and weight. Their unity is a delight for the collector to appreciate on and off the wrist.
